Sponges are usually a sign of new tanks, they usually die off once they've cleaned up the water column. How established is your aquarium? They are filter feeders so if they are growing out of control then its a food source problem. What type of food are you using?

Sponges are filter feeders and are beneficial to our reef tanks
They come and go and do not need any action to manage them
If they exist in your tank, then you are doing everything correctly
Enjoy and watch the undersea world unfold :D

Thxs. I use raw tiger shrimp and salmon squid. To feed. Tank is abt 1yr old. Its also pack full with copepods and amphipods, that also came with the coral.
