I've been dreaming up some unique tank mods (based on things I've seen and researched) for my AquaOne Betta Trio. The back of the tank has six connected chambers separated by lower and higher baffles. Each chamber measures approximately 8.7cm x 7cm.
Attached is my crude diagram of the sections. Excuse the rushed pen work.

My main questions - are what order makes sense for the items/compartments.
I know that this is the traditional order
Skimmer or Filter Floss --> Refugium --> Return Pump
With 6 compartments I have some room to play with additional chamber combinations - and I had a thought of making removable acrylic containers so that, for example, I could move the cheato mini fuge from compartment 5 to compartment 6, like a basket. I'm thinking in the long run this would be easier for maintenance and removal of different media. If I had rubble or filter media in a "basket" I could simply lift it out and move it or replace it, instead of picking up each little piece and disturbing the media.
What would an experienced reefer do? Creative suggestions welcome!
