Thought I would share my experience with a simple jig I created. Made adhering the glass panes to the sump easy and accurate without having to worry about the glass pane moving while it cured/skimmed over.

Materials:
2x4
4 small bolts and nuts
4 washers
4 lock washers
4 mirror clips
GE 1 All Purpose Silicone

So I was thinking you should make a video of the step by step process for us. I am willing to take the demo sump off your hands after you have completed the video. Win..win... I can PM you the measurements ;)

I am just trying to be helpful!

I'll hold the camera and do the filming ...... It can be an Oscar nomination and the start of a YouTube career !

Heres a small tutorial that might assist

Step 1. Place a thick bead of sili between the Baffle edge and glass of the tank ensuring to put some pressure (light pressure) to push the silicone through as best as possible
Step 2. 1st pass - Lightly smooth out the bead while ensuring to push the silicone further into the Crack to ensure a strong bond.
Step 3. Passes 2&3- lightly smooth out the outside edges pushing the silicone toward the main bead. (If too much has bled over your desired line, take a razor blade to remove excess and smooth over again)
Step 4. One last pass up the middle of the bead.

What I have learned is that this is all very time sensitive. In my experience, you can only smooth over a fresh bead of sili 3 to 4 times, 5 max - after that, the sili will begin to skim over and you will get that ugly drag.

Apply tape the first couple of times to get a sense of the sili and it's curing time to spread. Eventually you won't even require any.

The jig is what saved me though. It allowed me to focus on the adhesion of the glass (this is where the time sensitivity comes into play) by ensuring I wasnt fooling around with positioning and rather the bead.

Hope that helps.
