T5 Issue

I recently had a set of bulbs stop working on my Aquatic life T5 Hybrid light. I ordered 2 ballasts from reef supplies and tried hooking up both ballasts and i'm having the same 2 flickers and no luck. I don't see any pinched wires, no burns on any of the end caps. Anyone have any ideas??

Possibly a switch issue if they are programmable and has an electronic switch. Just had a similar problem on a set of leds. Was a frizzled pcb that controlled the timers etc.

These are basic plug and play. No switches, have to be on a timer or unplugged.

If you are handy with an electrical meter check the frequency (hertz) of the power being fed to the t5's. Should be ~60. you measure it like you would voltage

Try taking the end caps apart to see if it’s a connection issue, I’m also assuming they are wired up correctly a pinched wire can also cause it as well

I took the bulbs out when I changed the ballasts and checked the end caps and there was no smell or burn marks. I might have to take the light to my old man and get him to test it, he’s an electrician.
