what fixture do you have? Does it have 1 or 2 power cords coming from it? if it has 2 then yes you can. if not then you will need to open it up and see if it has 2 ballasts in it, at which point some rewiring will need to be done if their are 2 ballasts in it.

There's one ballast and yes I agree I'll have to rewire it, I think I may just get it and put the led in the fixture, I was going to run two t5 bulbs along side 2 LEDs but it looks like the LEDs will be all I need, the fixture is and old Guismann it's astetics on the tank is beautiful. I have a kit that allows the light to tilt up and back for better access . Thanks

You'll have to look up the ballast instructions, some 4 bulb ballasts can be reduced to 2 bulbs same length/wattage with no problems some increase thelength/wattage as you decrease the qty ie. 4x 39W T5 bulbs 3-4x 54W T5 bulbs 2x 80W T5 bulbs .
