ATI ballasts are around 65 bucks and run 2 bulbs each. Better electronic ballasts have "end of life" protection circuits that will shut down bulbs whose power draw indicates they are nearing burn out for safety and to protect the ballast. Cheaper simpler ballasts like the workhorse (vs the racehorse in Fulham products) do not have this feature and will continue to light the bulbs to the bitter and sometimes destructive end.

At a year old the bulbs are done as far as reef use probably (depending on type and usage). If you have another t5 fixture anyway IMO it's worth trying a couple of fresh bulbs before getting into the ballasts...

I would try lights first I forgot about the end of light on some higher end ballast they flicker like that too warn you maybe try new bulbs even in just one ballast to see you will need new bulbs anyway that ballast will have a number on it that you can cross reference to other brands but buy the best one toucan it's worth the money

Is the replacement ballast a cheaper variety? is the ballast in the other light you tried the bulbs in a cheaper brand? I'm just curious, this stood out to me when reading the replies. When buying used, unfortunately it is a crap shoot.

When I bring that light to you the bulb ends were spinning and loose I didn't put knew bulbs in it because I got LEDs and I ALSO told you that so if it was the ballast then I didn't know about it I didn't steal anything from you I drove 3 hours plus gave you parts and filled you in on the bulbs so i don't know what else you want from me
