yes, it happens in various degrees as sasha t said in your other post.. as you travel through this hobby, you will discover all kinds of wierd and crazy stuff... most is good, some bad, we all can help , quarantine your fish , dip your corals , go slow and read, read and read more, information is your friend..

and for us to help,, its usefull for you to know all your parameters,, you should be checking things often when starting up and untill you have constant readings, with little to no changes..

you need to keep track of your nitrates... for your new tank.. they need to go up, then back down to a low stable level before you can concider your tank cycled..

some check all the parameters so they have a complete picture, but if you are careful and pay attention you can figure out your cycle with just nitrate measurements.. check twice a day so you can see the numbrs in graph style..
