Just read this thread, I am on my 3rd Vertex skimmer, and also had a Bubbleking 160 a few years back,  These Skimmers have been very good to me. The last one i had was the IN180, Funny story, I started having issues with electrical current in the tank and when I unplugged this skimmer it stopped. It was only less than a year old. I mean when you put your hand in the water with a cut, it stings right? This was x 10 ....    Your gonna laugh but I sold it and the person was coming that Friday to pick it up. Prepaid.....  Turns out I added another dedicated 14/2 line to my tank and when I added the ground at the panel. I forgot to tighten the screw that holds the wire to the probe in the panel box........  My loss that persons gain, I tightened it and plugged in the skimmer and no shock.
Live and learn.

Anyhoot, I have the Omega 150 and give it a 5 star !!
