Water Amount In New Tank

To set up a brand new tank, how much water do I need in a 40 gallon Fusion 40 tank? I understand some water will go to the chambers and other devices.

Also, what's the ideal space that I need to leave between the top of the rim and water surface?

I believe thats an AIO systen so the water level wont change is the display section. Youll need about 32ish gallons as sand and rock displace water too.
