Soda ash is baked (400 degrees for an hour) baking soda, the heat gasses off the co2 therefore has less impact on ph

I've been using a calcium reactor for a few years now but when I was dosing I found not baking the baking soda caused the ph to drop. It was Randy Holmes Farly's 2 part that recommended baking the baking soda to turn it into soda ash

Cal throughout the day and Alk at night when the lights are off. I'm dosing 22.5ml of Cal and 24ml Alk in a heavily stocked 43g.

Reef supply soda ash here. But I am looking at setting up my calcium reactor again though. I’m up to 170 ml a day. Even using the cheap stuff it gets pricy

I space mine out through out the day. For example right now with hardly any corals in my tank I think I’m at 50ml a day at 6, 12, 18 and24:00. Before when my tank was packed it was like 250 ml a day either every hour or every other hour I can’t remember.
