even tho i love my ai sol blues i really want to add a few uv led's to help everything pop a little more since so many people here build their own and have experience with them figure i would ask around.... how many would i need roughly on my 125 gal im currently running 4 sol blue modules fairly high to meet my sps demands i know those uv are powerful so dont want to cook everything just want them to help with colour and growth a bit hopefully. any info on your experience with using uv would be great

They should be no more than 1/6th of you're lights. I have 12 on my 220, which really helped colour up my sps. Going to add 6 more when I get the time.

I got mine from stevesleds. I got the 1 amp ones. The newer version. Apparently some less expensive ones cloud up or something. These ones don't.

I think I had about half as many violets as royal blues. Probably worked out to about 1/6th. I used LED Group Buy.

The violets put out a lot of heat, so the clouding KBennet refers to is that some of the cheaper leds actually burn their own lenses.

ya i have read they get hot all my led's are 10" away from the surface but each sol unit has a fan built in i just want to build a strip of uv to go across my tank on both sides of my modules seem alot of people are adding them to the white blue and royal blues with good results i already have great colour in all my corals but my sps are a little slow on the growth but still grow steadily so cant complain it isnt easy keeping all those blue yellow red and greens bright and with uv will pop even more
