Last night my skimmer stopped producing the bubbles in the water chamber, i took it apart and cleaned it all then put it back together and still nothing. Has anyone has this issue before and if so how did you fix it?

Just replace the skimmer all together lol. I have one of the larger coralife skimmer rated for 180 on my 75g and that stupid thing is gonna give me a heart attack i swear lol. Everyday theres something i need to do it, and louder than shit. Skims alota crap out, but other than that.
When mine was doi g this i had to clean like line for the air, maybe the silencer cant remember and i had to fool around with tube going into the pump, not to far in and not to far out.

I attached a small air pump to the line that comes off the skimmer pump and hangs out of the water to allow air in (the air intake line). This pushes the air through as long as the intake isn't plugged with anything. I have run mine for the last couple of years this way.

Yes that would do. I'm not sure how quiet it is but mine is this one which I find very quiet: http://www.bigalspets.ca/whisper-air-pump-10.html
It doesn't have the battery backup but I don't think that is necessary because if your hydro is out the pump on the skimmer wouldn't be going anyway. I keep the pump going on the skimmer to provide the small bubbles needed and then feed the air into it with the air pump.

Sounds like somethings blocked, Not terribly bad skimmers with a few mods, gotta be in sump only though or you'll get a wet floor.
