RBTA just split and I want to get the clone to unroot its foot on a rock in order to keep it separated to eventually sell it. Any safe methods of doing so? I tried ice but it didn't work then i tried blasting it with a powerhead and still nothing.

I have placed a small rock between the two it should force one or both to move. If you are extra crafty you can place a rock on the other side for it to move onto.

the clone moved to the opposite side of the same large rock. I really dont want to have to break the rock cus its a nice big piece

Yeah that is a hard situation. I normally placed smaller rocks around the clone and hoped it moves. If you can disrupt the flow it should force it to. I found if i forced it to move and damaged the petal in the process it died quickly sometimes.

If it's unhappy. It will move on its own. If it's in your nano, you won't have much room to play with. I normally would move a power head and blow gentle flow on to it. And like Kman said. Placing some smaller rocks around the base usually allows it to move on to that for easy removal

it just split it's not unhappy. and it's in my 72 gallon. I have a powerhead blowing on its foot right now so hopefully that does the trick.

if you have excess energy you could try a turkey baster... thats how I usually remove mine, i find a more focused blasting on one area of the foot makes it peel up. Otherwise if you have a low powered return pump with some tubing you could point that at it...

Had a power head pointed on him for hours and he's still clinging on. This buggers persistent!

ya over it just put a small peice of lr on top to hold it down the lack of needed light to produce energy should make him more unhappy than anything and move in a hurry.... flow is more of a comfort thing light is their necessity
Hmm I'll give that a try! I gave up on the power head trick so I'll try this one next.

Yeah, I read that you had the power head going. I never had much luck with a power head as they just blast the entire nem. I found the thin jet coming out of the nozal of the Baster or 1/2 tube connected to small return pump focused on only one side of the foot would lift that side of it and the rest would slowly peel off as I directed the thin stream underneath it... The power heads would just blast the crap out the entire thing. Not sure if I am making sense of not now?
