I would like to try a new salt. I have boiled it down to 2.

D&D H2O Pro salt.
Tropic Marin Pro.

Just looking for some feed back on them. I guess there is 1 other that I have thought of would be the Omega.
I do run a Cal. Reactor and that's why I was looking at the TMP. Like the idea of lower Alk. levels.

Thanks

I am using Aquvitro Salinty and I'm just not impressed with it for the money. I have used many salts in the past. The only 2 salts that I can say where I did a water change and noticed brighter colors and Polyp extension would be Tropic Marin Reg. many years ago and Seachem Reef Salt but that was also a few years back. I used IO tank did not like I have used Red Sea but then again it was when it first came out way back most recent would be Coral Life and RC. CL not bad but hard to get I had to get in the states and RC well bad experience with it. Lost corals and got Red Slime when I used it. When I stopped slime disappeared. So that brings me to this point I have not used either of the 2 salts but have read some good things about them but they all seem to be around 5 years or older and things do change and products change. I really don't care if it leaves a slim or brown sludge or it smells like Dog shit what I want is when it goes into the tank what do I see, am I seeing a positive like colors have increased polyps extension.

I've just set mine up with Omega Sea, and can't say for certain yet but something is up with it. It's cloudy, and I've been in touch with manufacturer, supplier and retailer. They have been anxious to help so far. Sending a bucket back to be tested. RODI with 0 TDS was clear as glass. Salt went in and weeks later still cloudy. ZERO explanation from anyone at this time. They were great and shipped me a new bucket. Now we wait. I'm running about 300 system gallons.

I'm new to all this, but I also have a slippery slime sort of film on the glass I keep having to clean off. Keep in mind this is my first setup, and first salt experience.

Anyone know where you can get Red Sea Reg. ( Blue Bucket ) at a good price.

I can possibly find you a pail, but continuing to get wouldn't be the easiest. Red Sea coral pro is the more popular Red Sea salt for sale.

I have D&D in stock.

FWIW...of the two very best SPS tanks I have seen personally, one used regular IO and the other used Tropic Marine Pro (and the odd time he couldn't get it he would only use regular IO as a substitute....suitably supplemented of course)
