I have a MH that is sitting here doing nothing that can be borrowed if necessary and a 4 ft T5, but it needs new bulbs.
The mh would be great I have an led and a 2' t5 so with all 3 I'm sure we can make it work. It's not about ascetics as much as growth.

Riley I'm doing this to help you out for any sales you may or may not be doing. We as a community can not be spreading these nasties to people and it seems that you have been plagued with them for sometime. If I/we can help you irradicate them for future hobbiests. The better for all of us.

For those who have not had bryopsis, and may just think it is a little bit of "normal" algae. How can we A-spot it early and B-eradicate it BEFORE it becomes an major issue?
Just asking the pros to help any of us in advance so we hopefully don't have to go through what poor reeferkeeper420 is suffering through.

put them in a tote and as Sewerat said, quickly... just make sure that you have rinsed the tank good.. if you think its good enough do 2 more times...
I would think that if you put a heater and a power head in the tote the fish should be fine even over nite...

its only going to be very short term, maybe put an air line in to keep the water oxygenated ... it would be the same as when you move...

Looks like hair algae but up close the strands are like feathers instead of hairs. There was some on the frags I got from Kevin but a quick dip of the plug bases in hydrogen peroxide killed all of the Bryopsis with no harm to the frags.

Let me know when you need them Sewerat, I work steady afternoons, I can have it ready any time or bring it out to you. Whatever is easiest :D The MH is 4 foot as well, not sure if I mentioned it. I think I have some spare bulbs as well.

Oh that's perfect. I'm nights this and next week as well. If game goes as planned I'll be moving stuff around in my basement and making water by Saturday morning. Question is......Riley you ready to move those frags?

Could the tank be dosed with peroxide after the rocks removed to kill off the bryopsis?
I have never used it for tank dosing myself. It is super effective for direct spot treatment out of the tank but there are many threads on Google on in tank use though with mixed results. Also to use as a spot treatment for patches that don't respond to the tech m.

My new magic bullet parasite killer Chloroquine Phosphate is also being investigated as an algaecide. Not corals safe...but safe with corals removed...
