Planning on re-doing my display, and may just pick up some cheap LEDs.
Was thinking 2 cheap 55X3w full spectrum on my 75g mixed reef.

Can get 2 for $250 or so.

Any other CHEAP suggestions?
I've been running a similar pair on my 75 for 2 years. Had no issues at all with them. Mine are dimmable. And the blue/whites are on separate drivers, which is great. Think I paid $260 for 2.

Dang, they will have to be close to go in my hood...hmmm....
Depends on the lens angle I think. Poseidon had a unit and pulled the lens off the red bulbs. You didn't really see a disco affect at all. I run mine at blue 3/4 full, and white minimum. The reds/greens are on the white driver. It's a nice mix imo.

Mine are 8-10" from there surface. I pulled the lenses of the red and greens but left them on the white, blues and royal blues. You can see some small spot lighting affect in the crevices between the rocks is you look for it but I had to point out to my wife for her to notice. I could possibly eliminate it completely by raising the lights a little but this height keeps the light from spilling over the edges

Have u ever thought of buying used quality ones? I have done side by side comparison and I can tell u there is huge colour difference between Chinese and quality LEDs I've seen a ugly brown coral come it life when put under my ai's. Maybe new ones are out of your budget. But what about used?

Yep; when I think back at all the cash I spent on mh ant t5 bulbs it kills me. That could have been spent in livestock instead lol

It's not easy to find them used at still a decent price. I'd love an AI prime personally. But never see them up for resale
