Led Upgrade

I've been running my 150w Chinese blackbox lights for quite some time now and am ready for an upgrade to some better lighting.

Just looking for some advice of good options in LED's. Wanting full spectrum with a bit more control than dimmers. I have some sps, but growing it quickly isn't the end goal which is why im staying away from t5, just don't want another thing to be replacing in the maintenance budget etc.

Depending on your budget and tank size, there are lots of higher end brands that people are having great success with. Maybe some tank info will help us give you some suggestions.

Tank length/width/height?

Its a standard 90, 48x18x24 but I am hoping to get some lighting that I can possibly upgrade to a larger tank down the road. These are hopefully "lifetime" lights so the budget is fairly open :)

I would look into the Radion xr30-g3Pro from ecotech if your budget is "open", they are I would say are one of the nicest fixtures. You could run 2 above your tank.

The new Hydra 52 HD look nice too, but are still "new"

3 kessil a360we would also work, however the price on them just went up, so I would recommend looking into the new KELO led units I am bringing in.

Why not the Kessil AP700 LED one will cover a 4' tank. its completely controllable with Iphone or Android so WIFI and a 1 year warranty and will plug to apex.

Great name and really reasonable price at $1,200 plus tax to light a 48" by 24" area.

When I upgrade to a bigger tank I'm probablly going to go this route

another testimonial 6 months use

Onces I bought a kessil I'll never consider something else for the price it's an amazing led and its smaller then a pop can for the tuna blue 160 , can't go wrong in my option !

You will get more of a metal halide shimmer look with the kessil. Some people like the look while others do not.

Between the kessil and the radion, is there going to be much difference with coral colouration?

I have no issue with colour and I run my kessil around50% almost all blues , I did lot of looking around before I got my 3rd led light lol and now I inow why you get what you pay for !

lights are like girls ... everyone likes different ones
Yep, I like to get quality ones and pay upfront and not have one that's high maintenance. Every time I turn around I'm spending more money . Then see a newer model and trade the old one in to get the new one that I think will make me happy. Only to find out she just cost me more and is the same as the old one.
