Well I found some nice leafy mangroves for a pretty good price, had to go to Burlington to get them.
While in the area I stopped at coral reef shop, their frag tanks were pretty thin and the Sps tank was almost completely bare. The dry goods were really low, I thought they sold cobalt thermo heaters there but must have been mistaken. They had some fish I never saw before, both blue and yellow assessors, cool Choati wrasse, Brachiosaurus blennys and crested oyster gobies

you and me both, I am waiting til quartapound get sick of his 45 cube and wants to drop it off at my place. I was thinking 60 or 90 but they are so big and I really dont need to go crazy big. But i doubt the 20 gallon nuvo I have will be big enough for a 5" Purple tang

The sps tank at coral reef shop is getting filled tonight. The lps tank is pretty full, but a lot of colonies and frags were sold last week. The zoo etc tank is being reloaded soon.

They have a bunch of those heaters on the left shelf as you are walking out the back door.

lol... You're welcome to wait, but will likely be waiting a very long time. I do love the footprint, not too big, not too small....just right. (sounds like I'm little red riding hood, haha... after posting about gingerbread houses, I must have fairytales on the brain) ...the 60 gallon version (that I thought I saw for sale on this forum quite recently) is the same footprint, just 6 inches higher.. mine is 24x24x18, not technically a cube.... the 60 is 24x24x24

Go for the 60! :)

Cobalt schmobalt. I gots me 2 of them aqueonies and them warming ma toast jus fine. Lol. Heater is a heater on a controller

Technically heaters with built in thermostats CAN fail though (even when plugged into a controller)...

..They do make titanium heating tubes that are nothing but a heating coil attached to a plug, making a controller a necessity, and removing one more potential point of failure.

The opposite argument to this would obviously be if your controller fails (in the ON position) and you had your standard heater set only a bit higher than what you have your controller set to... you wouldn't cook your tank.

If you want to help me move it I'll pick it up boxing day.

I have it in my head that i need the cobalt one, probably because I can't find it locally and it's super expensive. I have one of them aqueonies and one minute I put my hand in the tank and its like a sauna the next time is like a cool pitcher of beer. I got it from that very self about 8 months ago

Here is what I'm looking for:

6 mangroves prefer leaves on em
1 Cobalt Neo-Therm Heater 75W
10 lbs of Tonga branch coral

I have other stuff i'm thinking about, but if anyone has ideas about places to go to get this stuff on sale for boxing day. One stop shopping would be ideal
