What would a 1 inch frag of something so rare be worth ?
Well considering that little nib took 2 years, don't start saving your $$ yet :)

I'm going to go back to a regimen of spot feeding the sps, I compare my PE today to what it was last summer and the big difference (besides the power outage) was aggressive GFO and a solid diet of reef roids. (the gfo was needed to take up all the excess phosphate from the feedings). I'm hoping that it actually has some polyps I can feed it nightly and spur some more aggressive growth. The bigger the piece, the more possible frags.

I would budget for about $2000 per 1 inch frag though. To me it sounds totally fair :D

I had never heard of this elusive purple monster before Glenn, and seeing some pics and vid in this post, also seeing this specimen in person at Glenn's, this definitely looks like the beginning to a legit Purple Monster :), good luck buddy, can't wait to see it grow out....

My sunset millie is almost unrecognizable right now to what it was. This is the kind of kick in the ass I needed to get my interest back in the tank. I'm a little shocked at how far I let it slide. Everything is still healthy, but not like this.

Well slow and steady, I won't be drastically changing anything except the food/gfo. I had forgotten how much I was feeding the reef roids until you mentioned it yesterday, and now that I see the difference... Take a look at what the sunset millie is supposed to look like above. I have a bit of work to do, although almost everything is starting to benefit from my increased water change schedule (15 gallons every 4-5 days for the next while).

Purple monster was one of the early dream pieces. I knew about it, but didn't think I would have luck with it when so many others didn't. I had to call Reefhero today to verify that it was Darryl's piece, and Ben never makes mistakes when it comes to this stuff. I just wish both of them were still in the hobby.

I have a good colony of sunset millie. I bought a few things today to get the PE and growth tips back. Sucks though, I'll have to put up with algae blooms on the substrate again...but the results are worth it.
