I've been. Lots of cool fish. When I was there last summer there was hardly any coral which I was disappointed in but worth checkin out

I've been twice and I was super impressed
Tons of great exhibits and well organized by location and species
Take the kids (or not!) but definitely worth it IMO !

I agree it's definitely worth checking out...I was just hoping for more coral

A very nice display and well laid out attraction. Not overwhelming for non fish people but enough for the wet crowd. Honestly the highlight of my visit was the acrylic seaming...yeah I know...but the middle of the lower area of the kelp tank has a 25' seam in what has to be 4-5" acrylic that is virtually invisible unless you're looking for it! Amazing work that has inspired me to improve my skills. The family loved it.

Filtration / pump room is available for viewing on the way out - view is from a walkway so you can see but not touch as far as I know ...
Limited information about the inner workings but very very impressive to say the least !

I have been there and am planning to go back I was very impressed. planning to make it a yearly trip so I can watch the way it grows and changes

Went last year and was worth it. Order your tickets online and you'll save a bit and skip the line at the entrance.

I liked it a little pricy , when I went it was a huge trip for all the kids at school.. And one crapped them self in the tunnel with the slow moving floor belt to stand in it was the worst ..
But other then that amazing I love the floor to ceiling 2 story tank !

Does anyone have a contact at Ripley's. It would be cool to get a "backstage" tour of the mechanical room, and see how they mix their own salt from the base elements. "Hey you two in the back. Empty your pockets!"

Here's a pretty interesting article on some of the challenges while designing and constructing the aquarium.
I don't know if you knew, but in the case of an emergency, all the water in all of the tanks can be replaced with water in standby tanks... That's a lot of water!
