I really like the idea of this, could you put it in the baffles of a sump..
my sump is 55g, 3 chamber.. 1st= skimmer, 2 baffles, 2nd= refuge with calurpa and cheato, one baffle, 3rd= return pump..
pretty simple set up...
next question is where to source it ?

this is crazy, Big Al's just sent out an ad showing this product.. but, before I buy them I have a couple of questions,
1) can they go in my baffles, size wise they are perfect for my sump...
2) any special order that you would put them in,, eg; carbon, phos, nit...
I would like to use them on the mixed tank..
thanks

Basically you could put them anywhere other than in the DT itself, use a elastic to hold each of them together, then wedge a piece of live rock in your sump up against the pads, or put a couple together then slide between your baffles leaving enough room for water flow? I don't run sumps, so my solution was in my HOB skimmers, and frag tank overflow..these are really meant for canister filters, to be cuttable to any size filter needed

I'm going to try the carbon and put them between the baffle coming from the skimmer to the refuge.. the space is about 1.5 to 2"...

I think so too, my sump is 18" front to back and the sheets are that size...
Don't fill in the whole space in the baffle, you don't want to restrict water flow, maybe cut the sheet into a 6"-8" wide by how ever long, piece that way you still have 4-6" inches of water flow around each side of the sheet, you want the water to flow pacively through it, not forced through:)
