I just recently put this hob skimmer on the pony tank and I am have trouble adjusting the skim, it is doing a wet skim.. has anyone had or do you have this skimmer and can you tell me how to adjust it.. love the unit, bit of over kill on the tank but !!!!...

Raise the collection cut by 1/8" intervals until you get the desired skim consistency

That is a great skimmer. I think @Shooter000 uses one as well. I personally love RO HOB skimmers. Nice score/trade.

I have a BH-2000 that came with my 46 gal. which I believe is similar. Takes a bit of fiddling but you'll find the sweet spot. In the next month or so it will be time for me to take the whole thing apart for a good cleaning. I'm dreading that as it came assembled so I'm going to have to figure it out as I go. That coupled with the task of lifting it up and over the tank while full of water. Anybody know of an easy way to drain it before removing it from the tank?

I agree, I am a big fan of the RO skimmers, this makes 2... my bubble magus is a close second but, if I could find a RO for the mixed tank, I think that I would switch it...

Siphon the water out into a small bucket. Don't try and lift it full. One slip and the skimmer will crack. Then you're up shits Creek

That's kinda what I was thinking too. What is the easiest way to do this though. I don't really have easy access to the back of my tank as it's up against a wall sort of in the corner of the room. Can I use the small piece of tubing that's attached to the unit to drain it?

Just take the collection cup off. Take a hose drape it over the tank and into the reservoir of the skimmer and suck on the hose to start a siphon
