I know it's a little much but would make a great drip acclimator

I use a hospital drip line. It works good and I can completely control how fast or slow it goes. It was cheap too! :)
I use it for fish and coral acclimation.

I was tying a knot in the airline but it was a pain to untie sometimes. I knew I had a few airline controls somewhere so after a bit of a search I've been using one of these at the end of my airline tubing ...

Mine isn't from Two Little Fishes but it's pretty much exactly the same thing. Plastic, non-corrosive and very cheap. Simple turn of a dial to increase or decrease the flow.

I wouldn't use a nut Mum.
How about I bring you my old boat anchor with your fish? That'll hold the tube in. :p

LOL ... Too funny! :D

I just use a dollar store chip clip to attach the airline tubing somewhere near the top of the tank and let it hang in. The plastic flow control has a tiny bit of weight to it and helps to keep the other end in the container I'm dripping in.

and the metal in the chip clip...hmmmm

The chip clip isn't in the water. I attach it to the tank lip, glass lid .... etc. Whatever is nearby that is above the tank and just let the airline drop into the tank. The suction cup idea might be a good one too though. I was thinking that if the tubing slides through the clip part of the suction cup a small elastic band wrapped several times below the clip part would prevent it from slipping. If I find a suitable suction cup I'll post my results along with some pics.

Tread Lightly with Mum here Aquatic Dreams bud.
If you get @heath riled up I guarantee that she will drop - kick your arse clear across London. - seen it done. :p

HA ... wasn't trying to get anybody riled up though. Just explaining that I didn't have the metal spring part in the water. And trying to think of a new cheap solution for everybody! :D
