Alright so here it is!!!! I'm usually a really nice, easy to get along with go with flow type of guy, BUT!! Ive reached my boiling point, I'm getting pretty Frickin' sick and tired of people selling stuff on here when they have bugs!!!, it's one thing to tell someone that you have red bugs, black bugs, coral eating stars, AEFW etc..., cause then they have the option to buy or not, don't be ignorant greedies, but also don't corner someone by saying Ive got this forsale for cheap bla bla bla, try to pull the wool over some new hobbiest eyes knowing damn well you got nasties in your tank, be honest cause its only gonna bite you in the arse eventually, I bought from so many members on here, most with really good results and few with really bad results!!!, if you know what your looking for in a infected SPS usually you'll see it right away, I do anyways!! Then brought home just to dip and dip to find out they really had nasties, I ask" any bad bugs or anything?" You Look me right in the eyes and say, oh no no nice and healthy I QT", ya Pfffff!! It only seems like oh I don't know how ever many people (with SPS) mostly, that won't get there act together and you know who you are and I've talked to other members about people they have bought off of that have nasties in there tank as well --- and I'm not going to say any names, cause I don't need any cry guys, Nancy pants, boo hoo's, or stupid excuses!!!---. The moral of this story is fess up, be honest and don't try to con someone else just cause you happen to make the mistake of not dipping or not QTing or just not caring, don't bring your mistakes or misfortune to someone else's tank so they have to result in doing the same thing as you did, or even worse having to leave the hobby, this is why so many people get out of the hobby because of bad experiences caused by bad sellers. I could care less if you had tons of money just to throw it away and not care, but there's others out there that have crap jobs, crap lives, make little to no extra cash, slave in life, and then to find this amazing hobby as a get away for some piece of mind or to find happiness in life finally able to afford a small tank get it running, just for you to sell them one crappy frag of infested garbage, which in return kicks them out of the hobby, not only ruining it for them but yourself as that could of been a potential customer in the future. I guess my final point will be, BE HONEST!!!, or next time I'm gonna NARC ya out to everyone, every site, and even your grandma, and you dont want to mess with grandma, grandma kick your A$$!!!!!!!!! Have Good Day...

Well said.... Very well said. Nothing is worse than hearing a new excited members dreams get crushed and they leave before they even get started. First tank I got nudies lost all my monti and crashed a tank from all the die off(was my first 6 months of the hobby :( ). Second time I bought a qt tank and stuck to DTA. At least now DT is safe but nothing sucks more than seeing a new expensive piece die from little things that emerge. The best is when you nicely let them know what you found so they can take measures themselves since shit happens but all they say is "not from my tank" hmmm so my qt that was dry for months magically grew pests even after a vinegar cleaning prior !?$@&!?

I'm relatively new to this hobby but learned fairly early (from reading online constantly) to start dipping my corals. I dip every coral that I'm able to in Coral RX before it goes in either of my tanks. Now I realize this won't kill everything and doesn't kill eggs from some critters but at least it helps with the obvious ones. I've been lucky so far and don't think I have any 'BUGS' on my corals ... at least not as far as I've noticed.

Which makes me think about something else. Why not just say you don't know instead of lying about it. If I was selling any corals to anybody I would just say 'Not as far as I know.' I wouldn't be lying and I would have a safety net if something was found at one point. I wouldn't ever say 'NO' unless I was 100% sure which would take many many years of experience I would think. But if they're that experienced then they should know either way and just be honest about it.

And just wondering would keeping a wrasse or sapphire damsel help with AEFW's or do they only eat certain ones? Just thinking it might be a good idea to get one for my frag/QT tank.

Sorry to hear about your experience Shooter. I hope there is some sort of damage control you can utilize. Now I'm a bit worried about getting new corals from ANYONE! o_O

I'll never have a tank without a yellow/purple or hoevens wrasse or any wrasse like them over time of you had one or 2 nudies they are gone and im not sure if every wrasse is the same but mine always looks over new things in the tank for a good few days and looks it's over and over and over again , I love fish that actually do things for our tanks ( not like silly clowns lol)

Yep, I have 2 wrasses and think every reef tank should have at least one.
You just have to be careful that the wrasse you choose is of the reef friendly variety.

Can't be me, I don't think I have any of those, although straight up I told ya I'm battling the aiptasia

Did you get any of the bayers off of me? That's what I use exclusively, I don't think there's anything except coral that stuff doesn't kill. I dipped the frags off of you in it, and glad I did, sounds like you have everything!!! o_O

No no you shouldn't get any bugs from me, not that I'm aware of, tell me if you ever find any bugs from me as I've never saw anything in my tanks, but I have dipped and found plenty of things off of coral I've got from other people, no @Salty Cracker never from you, not even a Aptasia, and yes I use the Bayaer every time I get something..best thing I've ever used, straight up best!!! This is how Ive found all the nasties that come in!!!

I think this is paranoia level of defense ;) . Some frags cost couple of hundreds, getting frag out of plug will waist 50% of frag quality.
Will put my penny to fight:
1. Dip it
2. Visual exam
3. Tooth brash plug with soda and hydrogen peroxide trying do not touch coral
4. Quarantine as long as possible
5. Back to step 3-4 until plug is clear of everything

Paranoia until you have to fight a red bug outbreak. It's the toughest thing I ever went though, even moreso than dinos, and the dinos killed almost everything.
