Liquid Coral Foods

hey guys just wondering what everyone here is using for liquid foods for coral. Been using mostly dried products.

I've just ordered phytoplankton from Sustainable Marine. It's coming tomorrow so I haven't used it yet. Wanting something for my large clam and gorgonians. We'll see.....

if you were to pick one of those three which would it be? il prolly end up getting all of them later.... for dried stuff I currently use reef roids.

I suggest that you think twice about using the phytoplankton. I have been having high PO4 levels and I have just read that phytoplankton contributes to that problem. There seems to be a big debate over whether it is a good idea to use phytoplankton, and I have read some very good articles on this topic. I have decided to stop using phytoplankton for a few weeks and see whether I still have an issue with my P04.

Your dosing to much then or your salinity is different and killing it when added. Phyto used properly will reduce nitrate and phos.

I dose twice a week reef roids, aqua vitro fuel, hufa supplement, phyto and baby brine plus the daily mysis.

I'm using Marine snow, brine and mysis shrimp. I think I have some oyster in the freezer too, but those are the main ones I have been using to directly feed the coral.

WARNING: Do not spot feed your corals liquid food unless you're sure it is safe. Broadcast only. The liquid food may be too acidic or sticky, it will kill the coral. I almost lost a little frag tank once because I shut the pump off and fed the corals with a pipette, bad idea.
It was either the phyto, or the zooplankton that did it, (SeaChem)or perhaps more accurately the liquid that plankton was suspended in.

Spot feeding frozen food is OK and I use mysis shrimp for this. Broadcasting the small food to everyone else works fine, just squirt it in front of a pump.
