Are you feeding him frozen...Dwarf golden moray is a great little eel. I have had one in my display for 2 months, and he has been a model citizen. They are fish eaters, but most fish are to big to be prey. I'm sure if it got hungry enough it would take out a small clown fish. To me a reef isn't really complete without a couple of predators in it. Finding predators that don't grow that big is the key.
Pm sentAhh that what I was missing "dwarf" keyword. Do you have any picture of the one that is on sale @nathan? Which store?
Oh ya. They eat almost anything you put in front of their face. Just to test how safe they are with fish I threw in a bunch of freeder mollies, while the eel was in quarantine and he devoured them. So definitely a fish eater. Are you feeding him frozen...
I was told they would eat frozen
You don't see them in stores very offen. I bought the first one I ever saw, and I haven't seen one for sale since. I actually got mine from big als in Hamilton. They must be a hard eel to harvest on the reef, being that they can hide in the smallest hole, and they don't grow very big. Not mention the fact that Hawaii is cracking down on who can actually pull marine life off the reef, they could get a lot harder find.Ahh that what I was missing "dwarf" keyword.
