I bought an Acrylic Tank from another member on this site and am very happy with the upcoming build, hopefully it'll be my last build
I hope to get the tank in the next few weeks, I'm not in a big hurry because I won't be putting water in it until I move in the spring.ya I know, we will see.
The tank isn't drilled so I have to put in an overflow and put a sump in it with all the plumbing, I'm going to use a 35 gl as the sump, 36x12x18, a remote fuge, that'll drain into the return area of the sump, I have a 24x12x24 high, there's a pane of glass that splits the tank in two so 2 tanks 12x12x24, one will be the fuge and the other the top of water for the sump, I have some equipment picked up for the tank such as 2x QP900 for flow along with a RW16 dialled back of course, I'll probably put the RW in the middle under the overflow pointed straight out and set it on a low wide setting, for a return pump I have a Jabeo Dcp 5000, I'm looking to get 1000 gl an hour and there shouldn't be any problem finding the sweet spot with the DC pump, my lighting will be 2x T5HO 6 bulb units placed about 10 inches off the water in a wooden top that I need to make, I don't anticipate any problems. The skimmer will be a SWC extream 150, I have two reactors to run GFO and Carbon, a heater or two an ATO and I'm set.
Some questions that I do have are about the tank and cleaning it. Can I use a typical glass cleaning magnet, I don't want to scratch it at all if possible, any help would be appreciated, O yes I forgot to mention, I have 130 pounds of rock and will be purchasing new substrate, what's the most popular out there for a 6 ft tank with medium to low flow.
I'll try to do a build with lots of pics now that I've down loaded Tap Talk.
