What’s A Good Sump Pump ?

Still figuring out size but manning leaning towards what brand ? I’m a fan of dc pumps not looking to break the bank but worst comes to worst I’d settle for a mag pump , lmk your thoughts ! Thanks .

I used a Quiet One 5000 on my old setup and to be honest I never gave it a good cleaning in 3 years. It worked great for me and is a litter cheaper then the Mag pump I believe. The newer DC pumps might be more $ but they are well worth it in the long run.

I've been running a jebao for the last two years. Ive had a power supply die on me once. but for the price point I bought a spare pump. I added unions on my plumbing so I can swap it easily.

are you still looking at doing a long run to your sump. if so I would suggest going to a bigger pump due to head loss. you can always reduce the speed but you cant get more out of a under sized pump.

I mean it’ll be typical tank on a stand and sump on the floor so maybeee 4-6’ height (to be safe) and I have my pipe going about 7 11-12 ft slight slope across the wall to the sump

I’m using the vectra m1... have it running at about 60% which is more then enough strength for me and it’s compleatly silent

I would suggest taking a look at the flow curve for the pump at the head height of 6' to start, then you need to add for head loss due to pipe size and length, you also need to add in any elbows and t's in to that calculation. I think we discussed this a few months back in one of your other threads.

I have been using Jebao DC12000 for the last few years. Be sure to buy 2 so that you keep a back up for sure as they can die expectantly. Mine did...speaking of that, I need to buy another back up lol. Was hoping to get a Vectra L1 this time around.

the Vectras apparently fixed some issues in their brand however they did not have much better reliability until recently. Not sure how the new release is doing but the old ones had high failure rates.

Yep, I jumped on the first releases. Mine died within a month. I bought a newer generation one recently, seems to be ok so far.

Danner Mag Drive 9 here.

I'd love to get a dc return pump for the energy savings, but I still believe in 'ol faithful.
Our servicing company has many tanks running on danner pump. Some are 10+yrs old. With usual maintenance on the pumps. These things will run forever, and I never have to worry about them not restarting after a power cycle.

Just my $0.02

But I am contemplating replacing mine with a "reliable" and affordable dc pump(I don't think they exist in the dc world though).

I'll be starting a new tank in the future and what I have for it is the Jabeo DCP 5000 as well, it's rated for over 1300 gph, I thought I'd try to use spa flex to help the flow a bit, I'm going to try and get 1000 gph out of it and I think it's quite doable with the DCP 5000, I think in the least go with a DC pump, more control anyway and less energy usage.

Taking my Jebao DC12000 off line in probably next weekend. M1 is ordered and on its way . Will be holding onto the Jebao as a back up until I can get a good standby pump

Been running Vectra M1 for three years. My replacement just kicked the bucket so my third one is on the way. Hoping that they have some issues resolved. A little pricey but when a company stands behind their product its worth the extra $$$$$$. Ecotech has been amazing with their customer service. Run flawlessly until they die! I keep an old Sicce on hand for emergencies.
