Skimmer Not Bubbling

on to today’s issue... took my skimmer body apart to clean it a bit ( vertex alpha 170) and now it’s not making any bubbles, just sucking water in half way up the body.. it’s put together correctly... any ideas why?

The air intake tends to get clogged on these. I had to clean build up in the top periodically on mine. There is a sponge filter in there

air intake is the clear tube going from the pump to the tall cylinder that turns to adjust water level ?

Yes sir. The silicone hose plugs into the chamber at the top of the red pipe. That chamber at the top needs to be dry, empty and cleaned to.

Just disconnect the flexible hose connected to the silencer and blow in it a couple of times while the Skimmer is running. It will start bubbling immediately.

Iv'e seen the venturi clog with calcium deposits on the pumps

It’s in a bunch of piece now soaking in vinegar. Should get it nice and clean

I like pouring warm Ro water into the air intake too. Seems to clear out any salt clumps.

I was going to order two of the new AI hydra 64s today but not gonna happen if I need a new skimmer so I need to get this workin !
