Reefsupplies bulk calcium chloride and soda ash. The 10 gallon mix lasts me around 2 years on a 150 gallon tank at 50ml per day.

Damn , ok so is that pre mix or you buy it mix it yourself and good to go ?

Also may be silly but I never ordered something. From the states lol , is there duty on that stuff ?/ fair price to stuff up here , love that site just never pulled the trigger yet

Just about to switch over from ESV to the bulk.

comes in a bag (powder) mix into a jug. I might start at mixing about 1 litre first.

Remember, it’s soda ash and the ph is 11+ on it so I am planning to dose 1ml per hour opposite hour as the calcium into a high flow area of the sump.

High pH for sure but I have not noticed an effect in mine. 50ml in a 180 gallon tank would be 0.007% of the volume. Any pH change would be corrected in waterchanges

I’m a little confused @calli i know soda ash is used for alk on its own that’s what I’m currently doing , is this also an ingredient for the mag / cal too ?

44g sps dominant, 20% water change weekly as well, but yes I use about the max dosage you can do with kalk, and have a decent evaporation rate to keep up, but alk usually drops first before calcium, so I use a higher alk salt

I thought about using kalk at one point but I like how simple 2 part is for me. I know kalk is easy too but I worry about having to deal with evaporation changing and how much it would muck my calculations.

I dont calculate, once I got the number down close I havent changed a thing, no clue what any of my numbers are, never test, I evaluate with water change and health and colour of coral,I'm just a loose canon though, dont trust me,,, butttt, the proof is in the pudding they say and not to float my own boat but my pudding is bitch'n,

We need to start a no test club. Lol. I have the same mantra. Change your water and pay attention to what your coral and algae are telling you!!

I don't own a test for anything, well a refractometer and thermometer, so ya I guess I test. Water change weekly, change my media every two weeks, filter socks weekly. I only keep softies and zoa, as long as they are all open and growing I'm good.
