Just filling up the tank now. What would you guys put in the hang on filter. So far this system will be skimmerless tank.

You can always benefit from bio media in any tank. Especially at the beginning stages.

I would either do one of two things after the tank is established and you are using matrix.
Either take the matrix out completely after tank is mature with lr in it
Or keep it in the filter and take it out once a month with your water change and give it a good shake in the dirty tank water you've pulled out. This stuff can trap a lot of particles. Just like blowing off your rock work before a wc

Thx Eric

I've got coral in my other tank that I will be bringing over once the tank has cycled. Problem is the other tank is been redone because of an insane amount of hair algea (many beginner beep ups) what do I do to the coral to clean it?

about a month setup right? what type of fish are you thinking about adding? a Clown would be okay and then add bio load. Have you been feeding the tank? do you have CUC?

Im eventually putting my two clowns while I redo my tank Nuvo 38 or get a new bigger tank. Long term this will be Coral quarantine tank.

I'm no expert but maybe put in some snails if you have algae and feed the tank small amounts of flake or pellets once or twice a week. Personally I would just throw the clowns in there. But i'm a little crazy. Clowns are just fancy damsels

Nitrites are still high after 5 weeks, is this normal? I've used the add the raw shrimp technic and for the last 10 days added seachem stability.
