5 Gallon Frag Tank?

Hi everyone. I have been given a five gallon tank. Would it be possible to just set up a small frag tank with it... any ideas are appreciated and what would the best way to set up with such a small tank.all opinions are appreciated

You can but stability will be an issue with that size unless you plumb into your main system

I agree with Eric , I love the small systems but it's almost like an expert level in the hobby and if some don't agree then it takes expert care , top off , water testing , things can take a quick swing !

Ok I appreciate all the advice.... will probably have find another use for this tank I met up with shooter today and he said the same thing as you guys.... not sure what to do with the tank bit I'll figure that one out

If I were you start it up just do as Eric said tie it into your sump , of just s small canister filter with maybe a internal skimmer if not do water changes every 5 days or so , and maybe start with a small fish and softys , it would be brave to try some sps but it can be done !

One word to research 'pico' tank. I love them, however they are is a class of their own.

That's ok no worries I have a mixed tank actually and would have been the same for the frag... but I'm undecided

You'd probably be ok with that tank for keeping softy frags. But that's all I'd try if you set that size tank up as a stand alone frag tank.
