I've been slowly piecing together equipment for my 75 Gal (it's been almost a year, LOL)

The last thing I need is some powerheads and was thinking about Jebao RW-8's.

It's s 48" long tank so I was going to get two of these.

Should I pull the trigger or look for something else?

Obviously there are probably better options, but I am trying to keep within a budget, hence collecting parts over the last year or so.

I have 2 I just purchased. You are welcome to try. They aren't big enough for my display so will be getting some different powerheads. This way you can try before you buy :)

I was going to get with those or two Koralia 1150's

If you are selling your 8's I may be interested in them as well as that overflow box (in case you forgot)

If I see a used one on the Toronto forums, I will let you know
Tons of them for sale now that the QD system has been launched and these units last for years in my experience
A purchase that I have NEVER regretted

Ok, cool. I appreciate it

Will send you pricing tonight on the overflow box. The rw8 I will most likely use in fragtank. You are more then welcome to try them to see if they are enough power.

Easto you can buy used mp 40s for around 200. Throw a QD driver on later. Done. I love them. 2 with a gyre should do my 220. All I hear is the iwaki humming away. You won't regret it

I've been looking and most people are in the $250 range and still say the wet side "may" need to be rebuilt. Not interested in that.

Perhaps rethink the salt side of things and go with a fresh set up - which is just as rewarding and much less start up expense
IMHO, the salt hobby cannot be run on a shoestring budget
Generally, if you save at the beginning, you end up paying somewhere down the line when the low end hardware fails or doesn't produce the results that you expect

My dad always told me that "it takes a rich man to buy cheap stuff". I'd just keep saving and buy the right gear. Often times it's not the wet side. It's the dry side. And if it is the wet side, it just needs cleaned. Just put it on a tank and listen. Grinding means they pummelled it and you do t want it anyway. I have a deal I can buy right now. 2 brand new mp40s for 500

If you want to wait I'll sell you one of mine for 150-175 with no wireless component in the driver since I needed it for the upgraded quiet drive driver.

I have everything I need except for powerheads.

Tank, Vertex skimmer, Kessil lights, BRS Dual reactor, Eheim pump, Apex Jr.

Lots of people have been using the Korilla's. I know it's not a wavemaker, but I don't plan on any SPS for a while. I like LPS and zoa's more so than SPS (I'm probably a minority).

The Jebao's have also gotten decent reviews (mixed reviews - some love them some don't). I was thinking if I can get 1-2 years from a Jebao then I can grab a MP40 later. I am not trying to use a shoestring budget, I bought decent stuff. I just want to save some cash where I can and possibly upgrade later.

I could do two Korilla's for $150 which will last until I convince the 2nd half of the household that I need an MP40.

I have run nothing but Jebao since they came out. No issues here with any of them. I have my Jebao DC pump running off my Apex varspd. I still need to make a new cable for my RW's in my DT though. I used the DIY cable, but the one on my DT was one of the first test ones I did, so I want to replace it. They are right though, shoe string budgets make the hobby more difficult. It can be done, but you will have more headaches.

As for the RW, I would go with 2 8's, I have 2 15's in my 120. Running 2 allows you better placement and ability to hit any dead spots.
