I recently found a half dozen or so flat worms on a group of mushrooms in the corner of my tank. I fw dipped the shrooms yesterday, nothing has reappeared.....what are the odds that the flatworms were just on these few mushrooms? I'm partially colourblind, so they may be a little harder for me to spot, but I can't see any anywhere else in the tank.

Ouch. Odds are if you found a pest on one of your corals they're likely in your dt where they cannot be seen. You may have to look at treating your tank.

Yes if you can see a couple they are probably well infested. Good news is if they are just normal flatworms they won't kill anything; they just look like crap. Before you treat I would try a natural predator. There are many fish that will eat them if you get One that does its job lol. Or you can let them run their course. They will usually grow to a large population and then die off. But this may take a while.
If you go the chemical route just be very careful. When you dose flatworm exit. The flatworms put off a toxin when they die. It can very easily crash a tank if not done properly. That being said I have treated several tanks and not lost anything in the past. Siphoning out as many as you can find first and Water changes and fresh carbon After you treat the tank are the key

100% with Cliff.

I had a good size infestation... Treated with Flatworm exit 3-4 times... then I just said screw it and bought a 6 line and a yellow coris. haven't seen any for the last 3 years.

I also picked up some large animal dewormer called levamisole. I am guessing its the active ingredient in flatworm exit and is a fraction of the price. Can be hard to find.. its for pigs and sheep. I never treated the whole tank with it but I did pull a test rock that was infested and had corals on it to treat. Killed the little bastrds with out any reactions from the coral.

I was going to use it if the natural solution failed.

Get a coupel wrasses and if they keep them in check then I would let them be, they will eventually disappear.
