Personally just dumping them in to me is a big risk you never know the salinity .the alkalinity or the pH of water unless of course you measure it before hand

The only way to compensate for the PH, Alk, SG is to slowly introduce your tank water to the fish, We've all seen those fish that have a hard time adapting to our tanks and it must stress them out considerably. I introduced a Goby this week ad I thought he wasn't gonna make it but he was alright in a couple of days, Corals are different. Dip them and put them in. Would you just take a Copperband out of the bag and put it in the tank? I hope not.

I float the bags in refugium for 10-15 minutes. Then I place the corals in few dolarstore containers, half way in water and add one turkey baster of my water every 5 minutes. Sometimes I check salinity and pH of the water that comes from and make a judgment on how long I acclimate the new additions. I found water at pH 7.8, where my water was 8.3. I then discard the water that they came with.
