These pumps are 20% off right now.

Are these guys not selling or something? I find it odd that they are 20% off and they are new product.

With this lower price, one can get two pumps for the same price of one mp40.

I saw that today, they move up to 3000gph or so it says, reviews are decent but cord is in the aquarium. I went with the gyre fx330 pair on my 120 but thinking of trying a pair of mp40 if I can find a used set, or just buy 2 of these and try them.

the cord is in tank just like many other wavemakers. Only MP is not.

Reviews of Nero 5 are good on youtube. You can also direct the pump to different angles and come with great app. The footprint is smaller to compare to MP40.

The downside is the cable in the tank. But for the sale price, you can get two vs one MP40.

But, MP40 can be hooked up to battery back up and Nero can't.

I have a Nero in the 60 cube. Works like a champ. I have MP40s in my 110. They work great also. Which would I recommend? Either! Both are great products.

If I not mistaken there is a Gen 2 version in the pipeline. Though I honestly can't remember where I heard that... Some hobbysits were losing smaller fish to the gaps at the back of the powerhead sucking in fish. Unfortunately the only time AI or Ecotech puts anything on sale (except Black fridays really) is when they have a newer model coming that they usually don't announce so they can nickel and dime us. Radions went on sale before the new Gen was announced, believe it was 3 into 4. AI did something similar with their new line as well, previous gen went on sale before Christmas then a week later, oh look a newer, more feature rich, more expensive version of what you just spent a ton of money on, great! Hard not to feel burnt by these tactics. Lots of people pissed with Ecotech with the brand new Gen 5s for the same thing, granted at least this time they didn't start the sale before going public about Gen 5 haha

The same tactics are used for every product in every industry

True, doesn't make anyone feel any better about it though if you just spent a bunch on equipment. Personally I'd rather catch the deals on very well proven last Gen equipment then buy the newest guinea pig version anyways. I've read of some shops not taking back freshly purchased BNIB Radion Gen 4s though which does feel pretty sleezy considering everything. I understand its simply business but it shouldn't be the hobbyist or the middleman(LFS) taking the hit on these things IMO.
