Seriously, I've neglected the tank to some degree over the summer, just basic water changes really...the tank is still going strong and I can only thank that apex. It's not even connecting to the network any more but it still chugs along keeping temps and dosing I guess :)

Oh and thanks to Aaron for the salt today, and to unibob for the socks (which I will gladly pay you for...tuesday)

Only thing I noticed was generally not much new growth. I am trying to get my wavemaker up and running again too (just too busy!), and hopefully I'm back in the game lol.

I 100% agree. Apex has been a life saver for me quite often. I know that my tank is in good hands with several fail safes. Although I am sure to keep mine online daily. I 100% suggest a controller for anyones tank. I have been neglecting mine as well, however, temp lighting, circ pumps, have been running perfect. My skimmer cup has not overflowed after a power outage even. That defer statement is great.

I just ordered one! Excited to get it going!

I won't lie, it is great, but can be frustrating to get set up, especially if you want to program things more then on and off. Plan an afternoon without distractions. Have Internet access readily available and/or get a friend who has one to come over and help. Once you get it, it is really easy.

Mine was perfect until my net gizmo went down, the replacement has never worked right, but I think it's more a matter that I haven't sat down and spent a day with it :)

One thing I have to add is a water alarm. My overflows backed up and overflowed the tank. Most unsettling.

Yikes, overflows are no fun. It is on my to do list to add a float on my overflow and sump for that reason. Then just use a DIY BOB. A lot cheaper then the water module, I would like module, but I am hopefully saving up for the WAV for a christmas gift to me...I mean my tank.
