Almost had a catastrophe

On Saturdays storm we were away and our furnace quit.  Came home to a 10c house and a 67f tank.  Threw in a second heater to help try to keep up.  Took all night to get the furnace fixed and almost 25 hours to get the tank back to safe temp.  Everything looks ok but I could have lost everything!

That scene is all to familiar.  I was away at work and the idiots didn't come fill up my oil tank (yes, I still run an oil furnace).

I was literally watching my temp drop .1 every 20minutes

Needless to say I rushed home from the middle of the great white north to add some heaters and figure out those idiots forgot to come over.  Without my Profilux it would of been a total loss.

Glad to hear you didn't lose your entire system

My furnace died too. Sunday morning. Didn't get it fixed until Monday afternoon. Tanks got down to 70 degrees. I had two heaters running in each one.
I think I will buy extra 300w heaters and run two in each one from now on. Once the temp drops it is hard too get it to go back up when the house is only 54 deg.

Talk about catastrophic.... If your entire system went belly up.... There would be an annual memorial held in your honor I think.....

Wait a second.... Was this recently that this temperature fiasco happened??????? Like this past weekend?!?!?!?

Crazyness. Glad to hear everything is kosher at your place currently. :D

Not to take anything away from the OP. I don't mean to downplay your close brush with disaster. Obviously to each of us having our systems wiped out by something that is beyond our control is always catastrophic to the individual.
