Any Thoughts On Cheap Chinese Led Fixtures

It's been over a year, I'm thinking my light is not working for me.

I have the black box 55 led blue / white only. Tried cranking them up ; lost many sps to bleaching Tried dimming them down ; still with losses. Odd thing is some sps (bonsai acro, seriatopora) seem to do ok, almost thriving. Plus other reefers with similar if not the same fixture are doing well ?!?

I've tried to supplement with rgb strips, uv strips, t5 actinic. Still not happy.

I think it's time to replace that ####-box led for one of the newer generation fixtures

So guys I wonder if there was any advice/help you could offer. Any other lights I should look at in this price range? Anyone else running these lights successfully ?

Cheers

I'm using the full spectrum one, and I'm having great success, the white/blue fixture one is $h/t for sps, not even that good for LPS unless really close to the light, don't think they are putting out the right spectrum.. Ive got the white/blue over my frag tank and my sps look like crap, in my 44g with the full spectrum works amazing for me, 165w fixture

They have a wifi controller as well. Costs a little extra. Not sure how much, but they are super fast with emails regarding pricing and availability. Not sure about other issues since I haven't had any! :)

After some reading
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2474870

I gather many people are having success with several flavours of these chinese leds (that's why I bought one). What I noticed was several reefers changing out a few leds to suit their liking.

Are you guys with the full spectrum ones having any issues with algae ? I've read of changing the reds, greens, and warm whites to cooler whites and violet/ultraviolet.

The wifi ones, are they divided into more than two channels (red / green can be dialed down alone ?)

cheers

Did you see you can change out the entire panel, no soldering required ? https://sbreeflights.com/sbox-upgrade-retro-kits/6-sbox-replacement-pcb-board.html

If you do decide to do something about that blue/white one ask me - I can help solder in new ones for you, or I'd want the old one for parts.

cheers
