Hey all, I tried to update my apex and shit went wrong. I tried to connect my apex to my laptop via an usb cable and for some reason as soon as I plugged it in my laptop powered off and the apex shutdown. The apex came back on and I had control, so I tried the update on another laptop and I thought it was working but now I have no control via my head unit and through fusion it tells me I am not connected. The apex is completely frozen. I have no lights but all my pumps are running fine. PLEASE HELP ME. thanks dave

You need to update with an ethernet cable not a usb cable, plug the apex into your router and your computer into the router

I would get access to a hard wired computer and router and connect the apex to the router and try to re flash the firmware on the apex and try rebooting the apex when in boot loader mode.

Correct if wrong but the APEX USB is like 12V, making it NOT an USB just looks the same, compared to 5.5ish for standard usb things?

Unplug everything.. all power off... let it sit for a couple minutes and power it back on. If you are lucky there may be a protection circuit that tripped and just needs a reset. If that does not fix things then you are going to get into flashing firmware and stuff which isn't hard but will not succeed either if the APEX has been electrically damaged.

The laptop I have less hope for. since it was on the receiving end of the higher voltage.

Ok. Here is an update. Laptop is fine, it put itself into a safe mode. Apex I am not sure. I tried flashing it again but still nothing. The base unit is flashing yellow, which I think is boot loader mode. The eb8's are flashing green. I tried unplugging the base unit but still nothing. I am afraid of unplugging the the eb8's in case I loose my pumps power.

I tried reflashing but it won't take. How do I reboot it when I don't have any access to it either through Pc or manual?

Remove the power, unplug it from the eb8 and the power adapter if you have one.

Side note I noticed you mentioned above you were worried about unplugging the eb8 and loosing power to it for your pump. If the eb8 can't connect to Apex they will run as a normal power bar. You will just not have anything working program wise on it that you set. But you will have power. Something else to try when the Apex has boot issues is leave the base module unplugged for 24 hr or a little longer to drain the on board battery and it should force a diagnostic of the boot loader and do a repair at startup. Also when flashing your Apex you should save the firmware onto your computer and directly connect your computer to the Apex to avoid any situations like this. They are very sensitive to any network traffic noise. Make sure to disable the wireless till you are done if it is a laptop.

Actually the eb8 should follow the Fallback statement that each outlet was programmed to.
