9tds out of the ro is fine but not great.  You would be getting better results with a ge dow filmtec membrane for sure but like you said you are still getting 0tds out of the di so it can do the job.  What you may find is that you go through all filters faster on a cheaper unit but that is something you can worry about another day.

If the unit proves to cost me more in the long run then I will obviously opt for a much better unit. I will look into the membrane you mentioned forsure. For now I am happy with what it is producing for me.
