Ato Tubing

I am having a minor problem with my tubing going from my ato reservoir to my return section of my sumps. I am curious if any else had a problem with there ato tubing getting moldy or growing slim algea on it? If so how have you guys/gals fixed it.

Use dark tubing so it doesn't get any light. Other than that pipe clean it regularly.

Find some John Guest 1/4" tubing in a color you like

Ya that clear stuff gets pretty grungy

Ya. I think I am going to try the black tubing.

It's sorta like the black egg crate over the white. it won't get less grundgy just not as noticable

Actually the black does get less grungy. Less light penetrates it hence less algae growth.
