Bought an Eheim one and have not used it yet-but plan to use flakes in it.

Apex AFS with 1 or 2 mm Life Spectrum Pellets. I really like how much control I have regarding multiple feeds and amount dispensed. Some people complain about how loud it is but it's not a problem for us.

Flakes dispensed from a Penn Plax Daily Double II. A digital one probably has more features and options but this works for me.

Have used eheim for years...they have survived the occasional swim...I use them with nls pellets for small feedings inbetween when I am home to feed.

I'm using 2 of these $30 dollar feeders (one on each end of a six foot tank)
Feeding pellets. Unit works great, you can feed up to 5 times a day, and control the amount dispensed each time.

I have a Ehiem Twin Automatic Fish feeder and use pellets. but I found that I needed this (link) to help the food get in the tank verses floating on the top.

Been using Eheim af for years on our clients tanks. Usually with NLS pellets. They work great and are the only one with a built in fan that blows air out during rotation so moisture doesn't build up in the drum and clump the food.
