you better off to go and buy a generator.. those Apc backups are going to give you 10-15 minutes tops running a return pump.. maybe less. and after a year or two the batteries are cooked in them anyways.. if you want to go battery the best way would be to rig up a cheap deep cycle boat battery and keep it on a trickle charge out in the garage with an inverter you will get 10x the running out of a boat battery than one of those small Apc units. the vortech batttery is nice if your not home at the time of an outage tho.

no i think those things get seriously good run time.. like 12-24hr or something, they run the pumps at a low speed and save energy.
