yu just have  a nice clean sump when yu use socks ..also get a long stick with a blunt end. so when yu have to push sock inside out.  so yur not using yur fingers.    bristle worms get inside the sock ...

I never used to use them but recently use one on my dump. I bought a couple 200 micron from reefsupply.ca and then ordered a half dozen 100 micron from China. 2 for 6 bucks free shipping. Surprisingly they are good quality and I throw a couple in the washer at night once in awhile with a capful of bleach after I blast them with the sprayer on the side of our faucet.
