im looking at potentially getting a 96" reef tank. Moving it down the basement stairs is absolutely never going to happen, as its tight, but I also don't have the money to buy that much beer for people to help lol

Considering going acrylic due to the lightweight.

Where is a good place to get a tank like this?

Primo Reef & Acrylics is in Toronto. They have some nice stuff and I have not seen negative things come across. Location is important as the farther you need to ship or transport it, the price will skyrocket, plus more miles = more chances in stress damage.

No offence, but I've had dealing with primo. He doesn't honour his price guarantee and is generally a pretty arrogant guy. With almost a 10% fail or needs repair rate.

I dont think his quality or experience justifies his pricing.

Can't you use glass and just take it down in pieces and build it place ?
That way you can go as big as you want without the restrictions of moving it down the stairs.
Also easier to take apart and remove if you ever sell up ?

The problem with building a huge tank in place is 2 fold

1. I've never done it

2. It's not likely that it will come apart too easily

3. I've never done it lol.

Has anybody built a big one?

Plywood is getting more and more appealing to be honest!

What size is it?

I can't move a 300g glass tank into my basement. It's acrylic, or plywood. I'm actually really starting to like the plywood builds.

It's basically 90x24x31high but it's not really set up for reef use as is...more intended for FW use with the built in wet dry in the back panel like a GIANT Biocube....but the upside of acrylic is that everything can be changed....
