Biopellet reactor

I am thinking about starting biopellets and was looking at BRS to pick a reactor. This will go on a 220 gallon tank, so assuming I need about 1000ml volume - but that is a guess. Are biopellet reactors similar to skimmers where bigger is usually better? Also, does anyone have one they like in terms of function and cleaning/maintenance?

i think 1000ml is too much, i cant remember what the ratio is, but i do believe more isnt better,

i use the tlf phosban 150 reactor and i like it. as long as you have a prefilter on the pump it works flawelessly,
if you dont, then it will get clogged and not tumble right.

if using npx pellets the ratio is 100ml for every 25 gallons

I run 500ml of Vertex pellets on my 180G. As for a reactor, I use the Vertex UF15. It is a nice unit. I would consider maybe moving up to the UF-20 for a tank of your size.

i use a UF-20  myself on my 75gallon with a 44 gallon sump about 2/3 full,i would have to say i have about 750ml of pellets running,some of use have pumps that have the power to run a few extra appliances either "T"d off the return or a manifold style setup

I use a tlf 550 phons an reactor plumbed into a manifold from my return.

I use 400mls of BRS bio pellets

Recently, I pulled out the screens and modded it with a funnel at the base.
The improvement in tumble was incredible.

I use about half the flow as before and the tumble improved about 200 %
