hey guys

how often do you change bio pellets??? I been using the all in ones and they seem to be doing the trick ... just wondering how often should i change them ... or add some???

Change BioPellets? You Never change them. Add extra pellets every 2-3 months dependent on Biopellet consumption and levels of NO3 and PO4. I did not want to wait too long so that I was adding so much that there was another bloom. For 2in1 the phosphate binding compound gets regenerated by the growing bacteria in the reactor that consumes the bound phosphates. Exporting is achieved by skimming and/or filter pads. In addition, the phosphate binding compound itself is also skimmed off. So make sure that you are running a over rated skimmer. Just add more as needed

They are a carbon source, nothing there that needs to be changed. It's a food source. If it run out however, the bacteria living on it can starve, and can be a big shock to the tank.
