It's a g12 bulb phil... I saw the fixture. Search the aquaticlife g12 hid fixture. the 10k is too yellow. They r two pin bulbs..

yes it has 3 150 watt ballasts, it fires up and works its the aquaticlife g12 unit,...it runs  single ended bulbs with a double prong base which is a g12 base  they also call the bulbs t6's and then 4 t5 bulbs also

besides wanting the shimmer look , it was a deal i couldnt pass up trust me...so whatcha think for the bulbs  prob 3-14k's and what 4 bulbs for the t5's
never seen a 14k bulb but im hoping to get some good flouresent pop at least out of the t5's to supplement ..not sure how a mh t5 combo looks

In my quick search, I couldnt find any phoenix g12 bulbs.. as for t5's, depending on how the hid's look, I would go with blue plus and true actinic, or blue plus and aquablue special

hmmm - found the ushio 14k bulb - http://www.aquariumguys.com/ushio-aqualite-hid-g12-14000k-150w.html

glass box design says the color is a crisp white with a hint of blue.

I would run a couple ati blue plus and a couple purple plus.

thanks phi thats what i was thinking i ordered 3 14ks im jyst wondering if those in conjuction with the blue plus will the tank be overly blue? Guess ill find out i hope my corals still keep their flouresent pop like they do wuth my 6 bukb t5

im guessing u have t5 and how many slots for bulbs?
On my 6 bulb i run

3 ati blue plus
2ati aquablue special
1 ati purple plus
but i sometimes switch out with a uvl 454 or geisman actinic plus in place of the one aquablue special if ur buying bulbs definatly go with ati

most 14k bulbs end up being a really crisp white with a hint of blue anyways so i think you will be fine.

if you had an extra row of t5's i would say throw in some UVL Super Actinics but i think your fixture just comes with two rows of t5's right?
