That is a loaded question for sure. Hopefully someone can give you some good advice on it. I just used a chemical, I can not recall the name of it, but it really isnt good for your tank. Chemiclean or something. Anyhow, back to chatting with the wife.

Yup [emoji1] I just don't have time to re google it all right now lol. I personally think it is cyano from new tank syndrome. Now let's post treatment options...ready, set...go!

Slime algae is one of those tricky things to get rid of as it is able to do nitrogen fixation and take nitrogen out of the atmosphere and use it as a fuel source. Controls are keep your nutrients low to limit available fuel source, increase flow in the tank and wait it out while manually sucking up the slime algae. Or like the trouble maker Torx mentioned use a chemical like Ultralife Red Slime Remover. If you have a good protein skimmer the waste will increase for a few days as it is working. So be careful to keep an eye on it or it can overflow.

Thanks k man I have a 20 gallon and use the psk100 HOB skimmer and I have been over feeding reef roids by 1/3 more of the amount to try and help my corals and maybe that's why I'm getting it it's weird it came out of no where so it's a sign of to much good stuff in the water ? And I can't have much more waterflow my duncan and mushrooms look like they will blow away lol
